According to the msdn site, the options for corrupted master are: reinstall, reinstall latest servicepack, rebuild master. I tried the last one, but it seems rebuildm.exe is 2000 only, so I tried the second one and it did not work. I was about to reinstall completely, but I managed to google my way to this post. Thanks! (I’m a PostgreSQL DBA by trade, but maintaining some SQL Server 2005 machines was added to my job description haha).
